Mortiverse Founder-Builders

Behind the scenes of founder-builder challenges.

So, 2023 is interesting.

With the economy being the way it is, we’ve personally watched a number of our partners and friends have a really tough time.

Record label partners going on hiatus due to personal challenges. Team members stepping down to address personal matters. Suppliers going out of business.

Whoosh!

It sure makes being a founder-builder much tougher than it was in the heyday of only a few years back.

But…

Perhaps you’re thinking what we’re thinking:

This all makes the Mortiverse more important than ever.

Indie hackers, solo creators, solopreneurs, intrapreneurs, product builders… these are the lifeblood of our community, of digital culture, and the future of the market itself.

These are also people who are hurting, and need ‘something’ to return to that makes them feel joy, resilience, and renewed energy to tackle the week ahead.

So here’s where we are as founder-builders in light of all the crazy:

1) We’re building (mostly) solo. From world-building and scriptwriting… from animations to social graphics… from game sprites to game code… it’s all being done by two people.

2) We’re building with and for you. From email newsletter replies to live hosted cohorts, we’re learning everything we can about you, your desires, and your skills, so we can build something together that we’re all delighted to have as part of our lives. And we’ll still be collaborating with awesome music talent, in their timing.

3) The newsletter is now open. We’ve opened the newsletter subscription feature, and we’ll start using that as a channel to circulate project updates, plus opportunities to connect and contribute. Subscribers will get discounts on future product launches based on how long they’ve been a newsletter subscriber (to reward those who have been with us longest!)

By golly, it’s a lot of work.

But it’s also a lot of fun. And we’re in no mad rush to “just push something out” here. The great thing about building labours of love, is just how much love and care go into them.

And I’m excited to see this project continue to receive love and care from both the two of us, and from you too, as we continue this journey together.

Keep being crazy. We will.
